Where can young students go for a harvest-time field trip where they will not only learn about how plants grow, but also have a first-hand experience investigating how people lived more than 200 years ago? Only the Ikenberry Autumn Adventure offers this unique combination of learning activities; all of which are directly correlated to the Virginia Standards of Learning. Each year, more than 3000 students participate in this unique educational opportunity.
While at the farm, students will visit the pumpkin and apple classrooms, see a log cabin built in the 1700's, take a hayride through the farm and orchard, and pick their own apple or pumpkin to take home. A picnic area is also available where students can enjoy their lunches outdoors.
The Ikenberry Autumn Adventure is by reservation only. We are not open to the general public. For pricing information or to make a group reservation, please email us at AutumnAdventure1@gmail.com or call Gayle Ross at 540-355-5643. We welcome preschools, elementary age, public, private and home-schools.
Directions: THE FIELD TRIP IS NOT LOCATED AT OUR RETAIL STORE, BUT AT OUR FARM ON HAYMAKERTOWN ROAD. Please make sure you call 540-992-2448 for specific directions.
